I was asked this question: why should we care here in Romania what the People's Republic of China is doing? Well, everyone should know that, in the absence of respect for human rights, China's expansive economic expansion is at least as dangerous as Russia's aggressive attitude towards Europe!

It is a crucial moment for the future. Since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, it has become increasingly clear that authoritarian tendencies of state players of global importance must be countered. That we must not accept exceptions when it comes to human rights, environmental protection, labor standards and the elimination of forced labor, the protection of property, respect for the socio-cultural identity of all communities.
